Mr. Witte has over 40 years of extensive professional experience in the aluminum industry. Mr. Witte began his apprenticeship at Leichtmetall (then still VAW Aluminium AG) in 1983 and held management positions in almost all areas of the company before leaving Leichtmetall (at that time under Norsk Hydro) in 2008 to develop his career as technical manager of an aluminium extrusion plant.  In 2014, Mr. Witte returned as CEO of Leichtmetall (private equity owner) and led the successful transition to the takeover by EGA in May 2024 and was significantly involved in implementing this change. 

From 2019 to 2023, in addition to Leichtmetall, Mr. Witte was also successfully involved in the restructuring of an aluminium rolling mill (ex Alcoa) for hard alloys in Venice and another aluminium rolling mill (ex Norsk Hydro) for soft alloys (both mills with an associated foundry) in Rome as Managing Director and Board Member.
